UA STUDENTS VOTE IN FAVOR OF CHANGE OF RAZORBACK FOOTBALL VENUE LEADING TO MORE GAMES IN FAYETTEVILLE

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - An E-mail poll of leaders of University of Arkansas registered student organizations shows 84 percent of the UA students polled are in favor of more football games being played in Fayetteville.

The poll, organized by the Office for Student Involvement and Leadership, targeted the UA's student leaders for their opinions on the split of Razorback football games played in Fayetteville and in Little Rock.

The deadline for the e-mail poll was noon today. Of the 165 student leaders who responded, the majority favored at least a 5-2 split with more games in Fayetteville.

The poll posed an open-ended question on how the games should be divided. The following figures show how the students responded.

Voting for.

  • -All games in Fayetteville - 84 or 51%
  • Five games in Fayetteville (5-2 split) -- 55 or 33%
  • Three games in Fayetteville (3-3 split) - 25 or 15%
  • No comment - 1 response

The information gathered in the poll will be reported by campus officials in their presentation to the UA Board of Trustees at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the Hilton Inn, 925 South University Avenue in Little Rock.
