Annual Accounting Awards

UA Walton College to honor outstanding alumni and students in 34th annual event

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- The accounting department in the Sam M. Walton College of Business at the University of Arkansas will honor its outstanding alumni and students at the 34th annual Accounting Recognition Banquet Wednesday, April 18, at the Alltel Ballroom, Arkansas Union.

The event also represents the 56th anniversary of the founding of the Alpha Iota chapter of Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting honorary society, on the University of Arkansas campus.

The accounting department will recognize its 2007 outstanding alumni in the areas of:

  • Industry and Government - Sue Patton Mosley, controller, Alltel Corp., Little Rock, Ark.
  • Public - David Mosley, partner-in-charge of audit and accounting services, JPMS Cox, PLLC, Little Rock, Ark.

Karen V. Pincus, holder of the S. Robson Walton Chair in Accounting and chair of the accounting department, said: "The things taught in college are not the end of learning, but the preparation for a lifetime of learning. Since 1977, the department has annually recognized the accomplishments of some of our outstanding alumni who, after completing their UA education, have continued to grow and learn. These alumni provide excellent role models and exemplify the very essence of what we are trying to teach our students."
