PROVOST CANDIDATES TO VISIT CAMPUS NEXT WEEK

Three finalists for the position of University of Arkansas Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs will be visiting with the campus community beginning next week, Monday, February 28, and continuing through March 17.

The search committee for the position is hosting open forums to give the campus community an opportunity to hear each candidate's views on higher education, the role of a land-grant university and other issues of special interest or current concern. There will be opportunity for questions.

The first candidate, David B. Prior, will be introduced to campus at 1:30 p.m., Monday, February 28, in Giffels Auditorium in Old Main. Dr. Prior has been dean of the College of Geosciences at Texas A&M University since 1997. He also has served as associate dean for research at Texas A&M. His resume and those of other candidates will soon be available at:

The other candidates are: Jane L. Winer, dean of the College of Arts and Sciences at Texas Tech University; and Robert V. Smith, vice provost for research and graduate education and dean of the graduate school at the University of Connecticut.

The date, time and location of each candidate's forum will be announced next week.  The search committee plans to hold all visits before the week of spring break
