UA Faculty Member to Lead State Civil Engineers

Findlay G. Edwards, assistant professor of civil engineering, was installed as president of the Arkansas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Findlay G. Edwards, assistant professor of civil engineering, was installed as president of the Arkansas Section of the American Society of Civil Engineers. He will serve through 2005. The professional organization is dedicated to developing leadership, advancing technology, advocating lifelong learning and promoting the civil engineering profession.

Edwards has been a member since he was an undergraduate, even serving as president of his student chapter at New Mexico State University in 1975. He is a member of ASCE committees on Continuing Education; Water Infrastructure Security Enhancement Standards; Stormwater Best Management Practices Evaluation; and Desalination Concentrate Management.

He has also served as faculty advisor to the University of Arkansas student chapter since 2000.
