FICTION WRITER CATHY J. HUNTER AND POET BILL NOTTER TO READ AT U OF A

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Fiction Writer Cathy J. Hunter and poet Bill Notter, students in the University of Arkansas graduate programs in creative writing, will read from their work on Monday, March 11 at 8 p.m. in Giffels Auditorium in Old Main on the University campus.

Cathy J. Hunter earned her BFA in Creative Writing from the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she served on the staff of "The Nebraska Review." KVNQ, Omaha Public Radio, produced and aired her play "Over Troubled Waters." As a graduate assistant in the programs of creative writing, she teaches essay writing and has recently been inducted into the Phi Delta Honor Society for International Scholars.

Bill Notter grew up on the high plains of Colorado. He worked as a mechanic, a construction laborer, and an alcohol and drug counselor before coming to the University of Arkansas. He believes in transcendence through drag racing and has lucked into a job working for the Forest Service on a mountaintop in Wyoming in the summers. His poems have appeared in The Formalist and Alligator Juniper, and his first chapbook, "More Space Than Anyone Can Stand," is forthcoming from Texas Review Press. As a student in the MFA program, Bill has been the recipient of two Walton Fellowships.
