MEDIA ADVISORY OF PHOTO OPPORTUNITY WHAT: College Life 101 WHO: over 230 high school seniors with 300 parents and guests WHEN: Saturday, November 9, 2002 (schedule below) WHERE: Arkansas Union The College of Education and Health Professions is hosting College Life 101, a preview day for high school seniors and their families on Saturday, November 9, in the Arkansas Union. Over 230 students and 300 parents or guests are expected to participate in this annual event. Schedule of Events Saturday, November 9, 2002 REGISTRATION & HOSPITALITY 8:30AM-9:30AM "Nutrition in Health 1213" Arkansas Union floor (Gallery Lounge/Red Lounge) Shuttles will take families to the Arkansas Union located on the north side of campus. Pre-registered families may pick up their packets of scheduled activities and goodie sacks. This is a great place to meet other families, College staff and enjoy a continental breakfast before starting the day. INFORMATION STATIONS 8:30AM-9:30AM "Independent Research 589" Arkansas Union Connections Lounge All the information you need to help you navigate through all the programs and services available in the College of Education & Health Professions. Wander through displays and meet departmental representatives. Various professional student organizations located within the College will also be available. This is a one-stop shop for your student. GENERAL OPENING SESSION 10:00AM "Adult Education 5103" Arkansas Union Alltel Ballroom This is your home base for the day! Enjoy a warm welcome by Dr. Reed Greenwood, Dean of the College of Education & Health Professions. CONCURRENT SESSIONS PARENT SEMINAR 10:15AM - 11:15AM "Trends, Issues & Problems in Higher Education 6423" Arkansas Union Alltel Ballroom Parents, hear from distinguished faculty members who teach courses that tap into the talents of freshmen students. Our panelists will give you insight into the academic and social adjustment of your first-year students. This is a must-see session! STUDENT SEMINAR 10:15AM - 11:15AM "Life Skills Development 1002" Arkansas Union Theater Student Panel Discussion Seniors, hear from the students who have been there, done that. HISTORIC CAMPUS WALK AND HOUSING TOUR 1:00pm - 2:00pm "The Helping Relationship 3053" Walk off your lunch with a historic walking tour of central campus, leaving immediately following the luncheon.
