FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - A team representing the University of Arkansas School of Law won the Region IV Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Competition held Jan. 27-30 in Columbus, Ohio.

The team, composed of third-year members Eddie Key and Kalandra Wheeler, both of Longview, Texas, and second-year students Leon Jones Jr. of Pine Bluff, Ark., and Steven Moses of Arlington, Texas, won every round of the competition, including one over defending-champion Loyola University of Chicago.

Moses was also chosen Best Advocate at the third annual event which was sponsored by the National Black Law Students Association. The competition included teams from 45 schools throughout the 10-state Midwest Region. The UA team will now compete along with the other five regional winners in the national round to be held March 30 to April 3 in Denver.

The UA team was coached by Mike Mullane of the law school faculty and Washington County Circuit Judges Mary Ann Gunn and Mike Mashburn.
