UNIVERSITY OF ARKANSAS RALLY, USA!

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The University of Arkansas Alumni Association will send representatives of the University out on the road this weekend for the annual U of A Rally, USA. The rallies will occur Thursday through Saturday, April 25-27. U of A Rally, USA is a nationwide event that connects alumni and friends from various UA alumni chapters around the country with representatives from the Fayetteville campus. Sixteen UA administrators, faculty and staff will be covering the United States to update alumni on activities and events occurring around the campus.

UA Chancellor John White will travel to Washington, D.C. and Baltimore to speak to alumni chapters located in those cities. He will be accompanied by Jackie McMorris, associate director of the Arkansas Alumni Association.

U of A Rally, USA! Started off as Arkansas Night, USA in 1991 and renamed U of A Rally, USA! in 1992. It was held annually through 1997. In 2000, the Arkansas Alumni Association hosted a Celebration of Success that featured a satellite feed from Fayetteville to various chapters across the nation. This year, the concept of a rally was revived.

In Northwest Arkansas, a U of A Rally, USA party will be held Friday, April 26, at the Janelle Y. Hembree Alumni House on the U of A campus from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Lady Razorback Head Coach Gary Blair will be the featured speaker. The event will cost $6 for members of the Arkansas Alumni Association, and $12 for non-members. It will feature heavy hors d'oeuvres and spirits.

The Northwest Arkansas Alumni chapter will also host its third annual Scholarship Swing Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 27, at Stone Bridge Meadows Golf Club in Fayetteville. All proceeds will be applied to the Chapter's scholarship fund for Northwest Arkansas students attending the U of A. Entry fee is $400 per team for a four-man scramble. • St. Louis, Missouri and Chicago, Illinois - Clay Edwards, Assistant Vice Chancellor for Development
• Jacksonville, Florida - Dub Ashton, Associate Professor of Marketing and Transportation in the Walton College of Business
• New Orleans, Louisiana and Houston, Texas - Karen Pincus, Departmental Chair and S. Robson Walton Professor of Accounting
• Kansas City and Springfield, Missouri - Kim Polite, Assistant Director for Special Events
• Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and Wichita, Kansas - Curt Rom, Professor of Horticulture and Melissa Harwood-Rom, Associate Athletic Director for Women's Athletics
