PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: ADVENTURE AWARENESS 2003

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Eighth-grade students from the Rogers School District will take a field trip to Lake Wedington Recreation Area, the University of Arkansas' outdoor research and learning laboratory, on April 24 from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students will explore the natural environment while engaging in activities such as orienteering, first responder outdoor first aid, photography, challenge course, campground cooking, project wild with the Arkansas Game and Wildlife Commission, or cardboard canoe building and races.

Lake Wedington staff has designed Adventure Aware ness 2003 as a hands-on opportunity to enhance the public school's science curriculum and to spark interest in adventures available in the great outdoors. The field trip is coordinated by recreation graduate students in the College of Education and Health Professions, and sessions will be lead by undergraduate and graduate students from diverse disciplines at the university.
