UA WRITERS PARK AND AMPEZZAN READ FROM THEIR WORK

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - The final event in the creative writing program's Spring 2003 Reading Series will take place at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29, when MFA students Doug Park and Bobby Ampezzan present a reading of their work. The reading will be held in Giffels Auditorium on the University of Arkansas campus.

A native of Fayetteville, fiction writer and poet Doug Park has written since childhood. After spending 10 years of his life wading through bankruptcy documents in Oklahoma, he was accepted into the University's MFA program in creative writing. His reading on Wednesday will include selections of both poetry and fiction.

Fiction writer Bobby Ampezzan grew up in a working-class suburb south of Detroit, where he attended Catholic school for thirteen years before moving on to Dickinson College in Carlisle, Penn. He graduated with honors and earned a bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies. He spent a year at Northern Michigan University, where he learned how to teach English composition, before matriculating to the University of Arkansas Programs in Creative Writing. He is currently a Lily Peter Fellow.

The reading is free and open to the public. All are invited to attend.
