Wiley, Tucker Win Prize Round of UA Moot Court Competition

Second-year students Amanda Wiley of Van Buren, Ark., and Clarke Tucker of Little Rock, Ark., won the 2005 Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Prize Round Competition held Friday, April 1, in the courtroom of the University of Arkansas School of Law.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Second-year students Amanda Wiley of Van Buren, Ark., and Clarke Tucker of Little Rock, Ark., won the 2005 Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Prize Round Competition held Friday, April 1, in the courtroom of the University of Arkansas School of Law.

The duo defeated second-year law students Keith Harvey of Jacksonville, Ark., and Ben Jackson of Searcy, Ark., in the final, which was argued before the distinguished panel of University of Richmond Law School Dean Rodney Smolla, Arkansas Supreme Court Justice Annabelle Clinton Imber and Eastern District of Arkansas Chief Judge Susan Webber Wright.

Tucker received Best Oralist designation for the final as well as for his work in the preliminary rounds, which were held through March at the law school. Shane Henry of Heavener, Okla., and Hope Goins of Grenada, Miss., were recognized for the Best Brief in the competition.

The Ben J. Altheimer Moot Court Competition is the culmination of trial advocacy intra-school competitions held throughout the year at the law school.
