UA CHEMISTRY STUDENTS, FACULTY TO DEMONSTRATE KITCHEN CUPBOARD CHEMISTRY AT THE NORTHWEST ARKANSAS MALL

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. - Would you like to make gooey green slime or red "flubber?" Do you want to see a secret message appear magically before your eyes? Or watch two clear liquids mysteriously make a yellow solid?

Students and faculty from the University of Arkansas chapter of the American Chemical Society will be doing hands-on, live demonstrations of chemical reactions from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 6 at the Northwest Arkansas Mall to celebrate National Chemistry Week. The theme will be "Kitchen Cupboard Chemistry."

There will be activities for all ages: Small children can make their own green slime and teenagers and adults can learn about the chemistry of common household products. There will also be handouts with chemistry experiments people can do at home.
